Design with RAKAI AI

RAKAI is the AI designer inside Shelf Maker. It creates and edits the same parametric cabinet structure used by the manual controls, so the result stays selectable and adjustable.

Write a useful request#

Include the furniture type, overall size, main functions, and preferred finish. For example:

Create a 220 cm wide wardrobe in Opera Grey, 240 cm high and 60 cm deep, with two hanging sections and four drawers at the bottom.

Specific measurements are better than words such as “large.” If one detail matters most, say so explicitly.

Refine instead of restarting#

After RAKAI creates a design, ask for one coherent change at a time: “make it 40 cm deep,” “add a section on the right,” or “change the lower compartment to four drawers.” You can also continue with the manual controls. Manual and AI edits operate on the same design.

For B2B work, name the target and the exact choice: “use PVC for this shelf board,” “apply this AICA article to Row 2,” or “set this shelf 8 cm back from the front.” RAKAI can search catalog references and use the same material, finish, handle, runner, hinge, grouped-front and Quadra controls. It checks saved design state before claiming a supported request is complete. Unknown product identity or fabrication evidence stays unresolved. Structural rebuilds that would discard authored B2B details are refused; use the supported native edit or Undo.

Use reference images#

Attach up to four images, such as different views of one room, a measured drawing and a design reference. RAKAI combines them automatically. Add the known dimensions and what must be preserved. You stay in Shelf Maker with the cabinet visible while RAKAI works.

Use clear images with visible section boundaries and limited perspective distortion. Label measured dimensions in the image or message; an unmeasured photo does not verify scale. To change the current cabinet using another image, describe the change explicitly. Ask for a new design when you want to start over.

Leave space for appliances#

Ask in chat for an oven, microwave, fridge or other supported appliance opening, with its required clear dimensions. Select a bay when the request concerns that part of the cabinet. RAKAI stores the space requirement and checks the actual opening; it does not insert an appliance model. You can ask to change or remove the requirement, then use ordinary cabinet controls to adjust the geometry. Unknown dimensions remain unverified. Appliances are not included. Quadra worktop cutouts can be recorded separately with explicit dimensions and references; this does not certify the appliance installation or price its fabrication labor. A quoted opening does not establish installation readiness.

Your chat history#

Signed in, your RAKAI chats belong to your account. Chat history shows them on every device where you sign in, and deleting a chat removes it everywhere. Signed out, or with another account signed in on the same device, none of them show. Photos you attached stay on the device that sent them.

Understand the limits#

RAKAI may clamp dimensions, adjust a layout, or refuse a function that cannot be built within the available space. These warnings remain visible; open Show details for the other build notes. Inspect the 3D result and verify all critical dimensions. AI output is an editable starting point, not permission to skip site measurement or professional fabrication checks.
